Bitter
Bitter is a German car brand founded by Erich Bitter in 1971, known for producing exclusive and luxurious sports cars. Erich Bitter, a former racing driver and businessman, initially gained recognition as an importer and tuner of Italian cars before venturing into car manufacturing. Bitter’s vision was to create high-quality, stylish vehicles that combined German engineering with Italian design flair. The brand’s cars are often based on existing Opel platforms, with significant modifications to enhance performance, luxury, and aesthetics. The first model produced by Bitter was the CD, introduced in 1973. The Bitter CD was a sleek, grand tourer based on the Opel Diplomat and was powered by a 5.4-liter V8 engine. In the 1980s, Bitter introduced the SC, a series of models that included a coupe, convertible, and sedan. The SC was based on the Opel Senator platform, with substantial modifications to improve its performance and luxury credentials. In recent years, Bitter has continued to produce bespoke vehicles, often creating limited-edition models and special projects based on modern Opel platforms.
