Ferrari, using knowledge from the LaFerrari and its Formula One programs, created the SF90 Stradale with extraordinary performance and impressive fuel efficiency. Named for Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th Anniversary, the SF90 shares its ‘SF90’ name with the 2019 SF90 F1 car, tying the model to Ferrari’s racing legacy.
Unlike the LaFerrari’s V12, the SF90 Stradale features a 4.0-liter V8 engine, augmented by twin turbochargers and three electric motors. One motor powers the crank-mounted MGU-K system, while the other two drive the front wheels, improving traction and balance. This hybrid V8 produces a combined 986 horsepower—769 from the engine and 217 from the motors.
The SF90 Stradale was launched in 2019, with the open-top SF90 Spider revealed in 2020. The Spider features a unique retractable hardtop that preserves the coupe’s sleek design and converts to open-air driving in 14 seconds. The lightweight aluminum roof is 88 pounds lighter and half the size of a conventional retractable top when stowed.
