Debuting at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Aventador held the position of the company’s premier V-12 supercar until 2022. Initially, it featured the 691-horsepower 6.5-liter L539 V-12 engine, coupled with all-wheel drive and a single-clutch automated manual transmission.
Throughout its production run, more improved versions were introduced such as the more potent S, SV, and SVJ variants. But for its final version, Lamborghini introduced the LP780-4 Ultimae—the most powerful iteration of the Aventador.
Lamborghini elevated the output of its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 to an impressive 769 horsepower, surpassing the original by 78 horsepower and outdoing the hardcore SVJ by an additional 10 horsepower.
This upgraded engine propels the Ultimae to 62 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds, maintaining the use of a single-clutch seven-speed automated manual transmission. Alongside the enhanced power, the Ultimae boasts several of the Aventador’s sought-after features as standard, including carbon-ceramic brakes and rear-axle steering, a technology introduced with the Aventador S.
Introduced as a limited-edition model, production of the Ultimae was restricted to 600 units, divided into 350 coupés and 250 roadsters.
