The ‘DBS 59‘ is a special edition of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, created to honor one of Aston Martin’s most notable motorsport achievements. Limited to just 24 examples, each representing an hour of the historic 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans race where the DBR1 secured a 1-2 finish.
The exterior of the DBS 59 showcases Aston Martin Racing Green paint, complemented by glossy carbon fiber on the roof. Bronze accents adorn various parts of the car, including the front grille, hood badging, brake calipers, and 21-inch alloy wheels. A small roundel on the front fender indicates the car’s position in the limited production run, paying homage to motorsports. At the rear, a bronze foil inlay displays the chassis and engine codes of the victorious DBR1.
The interior of the DBS 59 takes things to another level of uniqueness. The seatbacks and door panels feature a textured material inspired by the original seat design of the DBR1. Bronze elements continue inside, adorning the shift paddles and embroidered logos on the seatbacks. The sun visor bears embroidery detailing the date of the 1959 Le Mans race, reminding the driver of the DBR1’s remarkable 323 laps. The car even includes replica racing helmet and Carroll Shelby’s racing gloves for an immersive experience.
Under the hood, the DBS 59 retains the same powerful 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine found in the regular DBS Superleggera, delivering an impressive 715 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque.
