Unveiled in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster was an even more limited edition and powerful version of the Reventón. Only 15 Roadsters were built, making them even more exclusive than the already rare coupe.

With a price tag exceeding a million euros and a whopping 670 horsepower (20 hp more than the coupe) thanks to a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, the Reventón Roadster was, at the time, Lamborghini’s most radical and powerful offering.

Despite its open-air design, engineers managed to keep the weight gain to just 25kg compared to the coupe, resulting in a still impressive curb weight of 1,690 kg. One interesting feature was the car’s automatic roll-over protection system, designed to safeguard occupants in case of a rollover accident.

Visually, the Reventón Roadster stayed true to its aggressive, stealth-inspired design. Gone were the curves of the Murcielago that it was based on, replaced by sharp angles and a completely redesigned body (except for the doors) crafted from lightweight carbon fiber.
