The Hennessey Venom GT is a rare supercar that combines a modified Lotus chassis with a high-performance supercharged GM V8 engine. It pays tribute to classic supercars that merged British design with American power, such as the Sunbeam Tiger, Shelby Cobra, and Ford GT40.

Weighing in at under 2,400 lbs (1,071 kg), the Venom GT benefits from a lightweight carbon fiber body and wheels. Its braking system features Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear, gripping 15-inch carbon ceramic rotors.

The Venom GT is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 engine capable of producing  725 bhp. The company also offers 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin-turbo V8 variants. This mid-engine V8 transmits power to the rear wheels via a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox.

Equipped with a modern Lotus Elise chassis and the formidable LS9 V8, the Venom GT set a world record for production cars in February 2014, when Brian Smith drove it to 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) on the Kennedy Space Center’s shuttle landing runway.
