First unveiled at the 2003 Los Angeles Auto Show, the DB AR1 (DB American Roadster 1) is a thrilling, fully open roadster that closely mirrors its coupe sibling, and was quickly recognized as one of the finest designs from both Aston Martin and Zagato.

Designed for California’s climate, the DB AR1 is a true roadster with no roof and seating for two. It is powered by a developed version of Aston Martin’s 6.0-liter V12, producing 435bhp—20 horsepower more than the DB7 Vantage.

Enhanced torque, a revised final drive ratio, and an ‘active’ sports exhaust system significantly improve mid-range performance. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 185 mph, making it the fastest true roadster in the world.

High-performance Brembo brakes, 19″ alloy wheels with Yokohama tires, electronic traction control, and power-assisted steering ensure superb handling. The luxurious interior features electrically controlled sports seats, a six-speaker Becker stereo system with a 6-CD changer, and remote central locking with an alarm/immobilizer.
