Koenig Specials, a German tuning company, was founded by racer Willy König in 1977 in Munich, West Germany. Initially, they modified Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer models before focusing on the Testarossa in 1984. At the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, they showcased a modified Testarossa, leading to the release of various upgrade packages including the Competition, Competition Cabrio, and Competition Evolution conversions.
This 1985 Ferrari Testarossa was modified by Koenig Specials in 1986 with their Competition Evolution II conversion. This upgrade featured new bodywork and a KCE 1000 Turbotronic twin-turbo kit rated at 1,000 PS.
The modified bodywork includes updated fascias, vented fenders, side air intakes, a raised rear wing, fixed headlights, louvered taillights, and a plexiglass engine cover. Inside, the car has power-adjustable red leather bucket seats, Schroth four-point harnesses, a MOMO steering wheel, Koenig-branded instrumentation, a boost-control dial, and a custom stereo.
The 4.9L F113A flat-12 engine is enhanced with twin KKK turbochargers, side-mounted intercoolers, a MoTeC engine management system, and a center-exit exhaust. The car features a five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential, Koni shocks, H&R springs, AP Racing disc brakes, and 17″ multi-piece alloy wheels.
