Automotive Art – Fernando Hoyos’ “Bugatti T37A”

Bugatti T37A Artwork

Spanish artist Fernando Hoyos recreates an image of his favorite racecar from the 1928 San Sebastian GP.

This offering from the Spanish artist Fernando Hoyos is an original painting later printed in limited edition, signed and numbered. It depicts the four-cylinder Bugatti T37A of Francisco Torres in the 1928 San Sebastian Grand Prix at the Lasarte Circuit. Painted red and yellow (then the national racing colors of Spain) the Bugatti is shown speeding down the main straight, trying to stay ahead of another, more powerful, Bugatti T35 driven by the race’s eventual winner, Louis Chiron. On the hood of Chiron’s car can be seen the colors of his hometown, Monaco’s white and red band.
