And So It Begins
In the city of Adelaide in Australia, Brabham Automotive has begun production of its BT62. The CEO was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and told the publication CarSales that there had been some delays in production. With that said, it sounds like the company is able to move forward with production of the cars.
We’ve got builds happening now. We’ll have three cars. Yes, we’ve had some delays. But that has mostly been down to suppliers and some of the effects of Brexit. But that is mostly behind us and now we’re investing in the factory.
The car also made an appearance at Goodwood Festival of Speed showcasing what the company has built. The car featured a beautiful classic green livery. The Brabham BT62 was conceived as a track-only car, but now the company has a package that will make it street legal.
The BT62 is a beast of a machine. The car features a 5.4-liter V8 pumping out 700 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power for any car, but in one that’ this lightweight and aerodynamic means the BT62 is an absolute beast. Earlier this year, Brabham managed to set a lap record at Australia’s Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, which is just one demonstration to come of its prowess on the track.
