1965: Jim Clark & Team Lotus – The UK Races

By William Taylor

Author Taylor’s latest loving look into the land of Lotus takes aim at but a single season in the life of the marque and its most famous chauffeur, but oh what a year 1965 was. For starters, Clark won both the Indy 500 and his second World Championship, winning six Grands Prix on his way to the latter, but there is much more to the story of one of the most successful seasons ever enjoyed by a top-ranked team.

Illustrated with some 200 previously unseen photographs from the archive of Peter Darley and embellished with complete entry lists and results from each event the team contested, this book provides an in-depth look at the effort behind those results.

The publisher Coterie Press says the book provides “not only an invaluable record of Jimmy’s early life and times, but also a uniquely colorful depiction of an important period in British motor racing history,” and we see no reason to disagree.
