Bentley to Build an Ultra Open Top GT Car Based on the EXP 100 GT

It Could Be Revealed in July for Bentley’s Centenary

Bentley is working on a car that is being called the ultimate open-cockpit sports tourer. The car will be an ultra-luxury model and feature a gasoline powertrain that’s as equally impressive. According to Autocar, the automaker will base the open-top car on the EXP 100 GT concept that it has shown off.

That car is a fully electric model and boasts seriously impressive performance, including a 0-60 mph in 2.5 and a maximum range of 435 miles. Also, recharging the battery takes just 15 minutes. The actual production model that will be based on that design will not be an electric car. The car will instead use the W12 engine that makes at least 626 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, the model will be an ultra limited-edition. Bentley only plans to make 12 of the cars. Each one of them will cost £1.5 million (about $1.9 million), according to Autocar.

The car has not been officially announced by Bentley, but the CEO of the company Stefan Sielaff talked with Autocar and hinted at it. “We will show a first idea of what we can do for [a small number of] customers,” he told the publication. It will be interesting to see what Bentley comes up with. The car is supposed to arrive as a 2021 model.
