When the McLaren F1 was released in the early 1990s, it was arguably known as the greatest car that was ever built. Back then, only a couple of cars were capable of coming close to matching its performance. Everyone even thought that we will never be able to see another road-going car that much raw power and presences as the McLaren F1. On this video, the car reached its official top speed of 240.1 mph. The record-setting test run was done back in 1998, deep in the forests of Germany.
McLaren just released this unseen footage of the test run which took place at the Ehra-Lessien proving grounds. The video features Andy Wallace as he gives what he thinks and feels during that time as the digital speedometer of the car slowly hits the 391 km/h mark.
The McLaren F1 is truly one of greatest cars ever built and it’s most likely that we will never to see such kind of car again.
