When it came to the high-dollar mark for the weekend, the prize went to ChristieÕs with the sale of this 1966 Ferrari P3 for a record $5,616,000. This ex-factory winner of the 1000 km races at Monza and Spa was driven by notables like Surtees, Parkes, Rodriguez, Scarfiotti and Bandini.

For shear excitement and drama, nothing could match RM AuctionsÕ sale of the ex-Bondurant/Neerspach Cobra Daytona Coupe. Bidding between two dedicated buyers drove the price to a remarkable $4,000,000, with the sale ultimately going to a West Coast collector and VRJ subscriber.

The high-water mark for the Brooks auction was the sale of this Mille Miglia-winning Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B for $3,082,500.

RM Auctions sold this ex-Steve McQueen movie car for an amazing $1,200,000, considering the carÕs lack of significant race history.

ChristieÕs sold the ex-Scuderia Filipinetti Corvette L88 for $578,000, almost $130,000 more than its high estimate.

This 1952 Ferrari 375, driven by Johnny Parsons in that yearÕs Indy 500, was sold by Brooks for $739,500 (on the low side of its $700,000-$1.2M estimate).

ChristieÕs sold the 1932 Maserati 8C 3000, which Campari drove to victory in the 1933 French Grand Prix for $1,084,000.

RM Auctions sold this 1970 Ferrari 512S (2nd place at Daytona w/ Bucknum & Adamowicz) for $1,200,000.
