Aston Martin’s DBS Superleggera Volante Is Its Fastest Convertible of All Time

Really Feel the Wind in Your Hair

Aston Martin may have some amazing mid-engine cars coming up, but in the meantime, the company is still churning out high-speed front-engine sports cars. Meet the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante. It’s an open top GT experience at a seriously high speed.

The DBS Superleggera Volate slices off the DBS Superleggera’s hardtop and replaces it with a folding one. This convertible might be the best, looking car in Aston’s current lineup. It’s also the fastest convertible the company has ever made. The car comes with a 5.2-liter V12 engine that makes 715 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 211 mph. It can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

The car’s power goes to the rear wheels, which is just as you’d expect in the DBS Superleggera, and the car is only 0.2 seconds slower to 62 mph than the coupe. However, it is heavier than the couple. Cutting the hardtop off and adding the retractable soft one added a total of 375 pounds. That top opens in just 14 seconds and it closes in 16 seconds, meaning you shouldn’t get too wet if you get caught in a rainstorm.

The car is set to start coming out in the third quarter of this year. When it does, it will cost $329,100. That’s a lot of money but honestly not an insane price jump from the hardtop model.
