Aston Martin Valkyrie Sets New Lap Record on Top Gear Test Track

The Valkyrie is Aston Martin’s ultimate F1-inspired hypercar, designed by Adrian Newey. At its heart lies a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 that revs to an astonishing 11,000 RPM, supplemented by an electric motor for a combined 1,139 bhp—all in a car weighing just 1,270 kg.

On the road, the Valkyrie is an extreme machine—minimalist interior, ear-defender-worthy noise, and a ride that demands full attention. But on the track, its aerodynamics shine, generating 1,000 kg of downforce at 137 mph, keeping it glued to the tarmac, especially in high-speed corners.

The Valkyrie lived up to its reputation and the Stig set a fantastic time on the Top Gear track with 1:09.6. It was only good enough for seventh place overall, but the Aston is now only outclassed by cars that are not roadworthy. The Valkyrie beat the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack by 1.3 seconds to become the fastest road car on the Top Gear circuit.

But many are wondering how the Aston Martin Valkyrie would fare on the iconic Nürburgring? Especially compared to the current record holder, the Mercedes-AMG One. Perhaps we’ll find out soon.
