Andrews Car Collection Sale
Yesterday 78 vehicles were sold out of the Paul & Chris Andrews Collection by RM Sotheby’s along with the 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica which sold for $7,645,000.
The collection was built up by the father and son duo in Fort Worth, Texas and the museum hosted many local events.
Increasing time and money to maintain the cars has led to this sale which includes some of the best examples of a specific type.
The Andrews have had quite a string of success in the classic car community. They won the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S which they subsequently sold at auction in 2013 for $8,250,000 USD.
For this auction, some great numbers were achieved, especially for the pre-war American cars. Records were smashed for the prewar Packard Twelve, Marmon Sixteen and Cadillac V16.
