Jaguar Model List. Every Jaguar, Every Year.
The first car to wear the Jaguar badge was the 1935 SS Jaguar 2.5l Saloon and it was one of the most distinctive and beautiful cars of the pre-war era. The Jaguar marque was born after the war (hard to sell SS badged cars) and the car was the XK120 which went on to become an automotive icon thanks to its stunning design. The next notable Jaguar model was the C‑type, followed by the D‑type, with its signature tail fin. The 1960s gave us the E-type and when it was first launch at Geneva in 1961 it floored everybody.
The task of replacing the iconic E‑type fell to Malcolm Sayer. His XJ-S was even more aerodynamic than its predecessor, thanks to its flying buttress C-pillars and concave rear window. Just as the XK120 introduced the world to the Jaguar straight six engine, the XK8 introduced the first ever Jaguar V8. Its design took inspiration from the iconic Jaguars of the past. The truth is that Jaguar models under Ford were underwhelming at best and it wasn't until the last decade that we started to see true innovation from Jaguar again.
Jaguar Director of Design Ian Callum came aboard in 1997 and things got really interesting. The 2006 XK was the first new Jaguar of the millennium, and the first designed under the aegis of Ian Callum. In 2007 the Jaguar XF infused the refinement of the saloon with the excitement of a sports car. Finally, the introduction of the F-Type in 2012 brought Jaguar back to its core or sports cars we love. Since then Jaguar has continued to develop beautiful cars and every now and again an amazing driving car too. As we move into the era of electrification, Jaguar is poised to be at the forefront with its model range shifting to electric-only propulsion by 2025. Below we take you through all the Jaguar models ever made.
