[Book Review] Ultimate E-type: The Competition Cars

Ultimate E-type: The Competition Cars

By Philip Porter

Philip Porter is an acknowledged Jaguar expert, and this colossal work will only add to his reputation. It is as complete a volume on the competition E-Types as there is ever likely to be. Having just written about two of them, I know just how valuable this 528-page book is. It contains a large collection of high quality photographs, but the real draw is the vast detail Porter has been able to amass on each individual car.

Naturally, there are a few gaps, but that is very minor. His use of factory documents and notes and reports from Jaguar staff is fascinating. It is undoubtedly the ultimate reference book on the subject. Expensive, but worth it.
