1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupé 669094 – did not sell for €75,400 This particular Jaguar XK120 was supplied new through Henley’s of London in January 1954, to a Mr. R.G. Lamont of Norwich. With a known ownership chain from new, it passed through two owners before being acquired by a Mr. Rickmansworth of Cardiff. He was renowned for his motorsport activity, and it is thought that he competed in this particular car. The Jaguar subsequently passed to a Mr. Paul Dewhurst, where it was laid up and stored in a garage for 10 years. Auction Source: 2011 London Auction by RM

1953 Jaguar XK120 Coupé Chassis no. 681197 – sold for €66,200 Chassis number ‘681197’ was supplied new via the Los Angeles Jaguar distributor Charles Hornburg and originally was finished in Pastel Green with suede green leather interior. The car was converted from left- to right-hand drive when it was imported to the UK in 2000, since when it has had three owners, the last of whom commissioned a superb restoration. The latter was undertaken by renowned Jaguar specialists Northwick Restorations of Blockley, Gloucestershire and included sand-blasting the chassis, fitting new sills, a bare metal repaint in Old English White (by Tilleys Restorations), engine overhaul, and new MWS wire wheels finished in Burgundy and shod with Blockley tyres. Upgrades incorporated include a C-Type cylinder head, Getrag five-speed gearbox, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, alloy radiator, Kenlowe fan, Harvey Bailey handling kit, sound proofing and a stainless steel exhaust system. 1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupé S680774 – sold for $110,000 The 1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe presented here has recently undergone a comprehensive restoration. Before the body was finished in the current glossy grey/blue, the body was stripped to bare metal, reworked, sealed and sanded; primer, base, clear coat and color were applied while all body parts and chrome were meticulously fitted. Of course, all the brightwork has been re-plated and fully restored to concours quality. 1953 Jaguar XK120 Coupe W648685 – sold for $77,000 This fixed head coupe joined the Gerald and Kathy Nell collection in March 1993. The Nells are well known in Jaguar enthusiast circles, particularly for their Jaguar collection, which at one time comprised a C-Type, D-Type and XK-SS. This car came from Santa Barbara, California, and prior to that, it was resident in Maine. The car received a ground-up restoration between 1983-89, and while it has the correct motor, the dash tag number indicates it is not original to the car. The car has never been shown, and Kathy Nell thinks of it as Cinderella: “She was put in the basement and just never got out the door. I brought her up six months ago and we’ve worked on her ever since. She runs really nicely now.” Nicely presented in white with a tan leather interior, wire wheels and less than 39,000 miles showing on the odometer, this is an excellent example from a very well-respected collection. Auction Source: RM Auctions’ 2010 Sports & Classics of Monterey

1953 Jaguar XK120SE Fixed Head Coupe S681131 – sold for $52,650 The car we offer today might be considered as just that sort of starting point or perhaps it maybe coveted for the rather attractive patinated order in which it has survived to 2010. Either way, it is an excellent example of its breed.
