Today Supercars.net presents a number of intriguing Aston Martins starting with a DB2 Prototype from the recent Villa d’Este Concours. This car was frequently used by David Brown and has many unique features such as 18 inch wheels. It is also one of four prototypes that eventually led to Aston Martin’s first successful production car.
Over the weekend, Bonhams staged their annual Aston Martin and Related Automobilia auction at Newport Pagnell. Among the top sellers was this Aston Martin Lagonda, one of the rarest V8 Coupe variants. At £337,000 it is also one of the most expensive British saloons.
Top sale from Bonhams went to one of the famed DB2 ‘Team Cars’ which was manufactured not long after the prototype we mentioned earlier. As one of five cars that were lightened and raced by the factory, it fetched £513,000.
