2009 RM Auctions’ Automobiles of London
Held October 28 at Battersea Evolution in London, United Kingdom. Posted 11 million GBP in total sales with a strong 87% at the third-annual ‘Automobiles of London’ event. The star attraction was a historic 1950 Aston Martin DB2 Team Car ‘VMF 64’ with Le Mans and Mille Miglia provenance, offered for the first time in 52 years and selling for 550,000GBP to set a new world record for an Aston Martin DB2 sold at auction.
The top seller of the night was a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster, the only right-hand drive example built, for 616,000GBP. An equally rare 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Coupe achieved an impressive 522,500GBP.
