The HMSA LSR Invitational 2016 was staged March 28 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The one-day Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) event saw a selection of historic racing cars challenge the 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course in Salinas, California.
The glorious sounds from a Ferrari V-12, Chevrolet V-8 and a flat-six Porsche were among those echoing off the hills around Laguna Seca at full song. HMSA’s annual LSR Invitational once again attracted some amazing cars, such a Ferrari 250P; Maserati 250F; Lancia LC2; Shadow DN4 Can-Am; McLaren M8FP Can-Am and Porsche 911 Carrera RSR; among others.
This testing session served as a tune-up for the upcoming two-day HMSA Spring Club Event, scheduled for April 9-10 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Drivers enjoyed four 20-minute sessions and a catered lunch where the bench racing was almost as good as what was happening on track.
