Monte Carlo, Monaco
RM’s biennial, two-day auction, held the same weekend as the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, sold a remarkable $43 million worth of rare automobiles, with an 86% sell through rate. With Feraris featuring prominently, the sale lifted the gavel on 22 different examples spanning over 60 years of production. Headlining the group was one of two 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Scaglietti Spiders, chassis 0680 MDTR, which was offered for sale for the first time in 30 years. Perhaps the rarest of all TRs produced, 0680 MDTR attracted spirited bidding in the room and on the phones, selling for a remarkable $6.1 million, a record for the model.
