VR: Like so many of us, I’m sure that you were influenced by the automobile very early on in your life. How did you get started in cars? What sent you on this path?
LK: Gosh, I was the only student in kindergarten who knew what a Bugatti was! My parents, based on my request, every Christmas would get me Match Box cars. And I would play with them and my mother says I would just watch them as I pushed them along. I just had a rabid interest. And then growing up every report I had to do— written report, oral report, term paper, research paper—had something to do with cars.
