Now in its 18th year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show, the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d’Elegance will, for the first time ever, focus on just one remarkable set of vehicles for display from June 28 to July 1, 2012. As a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her Diamond Jubilee year, Goodwood and Cartier will gather together a selection of vehicles all personally owned or used by the British Monarch. None of the vehicles presented have ever been seen together as a collection in public, and the caliber, quality and variety of vehicles promises to be staggering.
Many vehicles will come from the personal collections of Queen Elizabeth, including Sandringham and the Royal Mews while others will be sourced from overseas governments and private collections. The event will be divided into special classes, including Limousines, Overseas Travel, Working Cars, Family Cars, Aviation, Rail and Horse-drawn vehicles, plus Royal Household Toy Cars.
Royal vehicles expected to appear are Her Majesty’s 1929 Daimler Double Six 30 HP Brougham and 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V as well as the striking Chapron-bodied 1972 Citroen SM Decapotable and the 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan ‘Bubble Top’. Amongst the toy selections are an Austin A40 pedal car and a 1966 Aston Martin DB5 007 Replica toy car. For more information, visit www.goodwood.com.
