The GT-R50, introduced in 2019, marked the 50th anniversaries of both the Nissan GT-R and Italdesign. To commemorate this milestone, Italdesign crafted a unique concept based on the R35 GT-R, one of Japan’s most celebrated supercars. Originally, 50 units were planned, but due to the pandemic and its steep price, only 18 were ultimately produced.
The ultra-rare GT-R50 features a striking design with a roof lowered by 54 millimeters, a more prominent hood bulge, and sleek LED headlights. The rear was also dramatically reimagined, with floating circular taillights and a sharply sloping rear window.
This car wasn’t just about aesthetics. Its 3.8-liter V6 engine was enhanced with new fuel injectors, pistons, and a redesigned exhaust system. Larger GT3-spec turbochargers and intercoolers helped boost the engine’s output to 710 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque.
Power was delivered through an upgraded six-speed dual-clutch transmission, differentials, and driveshafts. Additionally, the car was equipped with Bilstein DampTronic suspension, custom alloy wheels, and Brembo brake calipers.
