Ferrari’s Iconic Naturally-Aspirated V12 Legacy Lives on with the 12Cilindri – the videos

The era of naturally aspirated V12 engines is drawing to a close, with turbocharged and hybrid alternatives quickly taking over, making it all the more important to appreciate it while we still can. Fortunately, Ferrari has introduced a new V12 supercar, a rarity in today’s automotive landscape.

The Ferrari 12Cilindri, named after its 12-cylinder engine, is the latest in Ferrari’s line of flagship V12 vehicles, succeeding the 812 Superfast. It follows a tradition of front-engine, rear-wheel-drive V12 Ferraris dating back to the 1940s. The formula is simple yet powerful: a naturally aspirated V12 up front, with the rear tires ready to unleash its fury.

The car’s 6.5-liter V12 engine produces 830 horsepower and 678 Nm of torque, revving up to 9,250 RPM. This allows the 12Cilindri to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph. Ferrari’s “torque shaping” technology ensures a smoother, more linear power delivery, enhancing the driving experience.

The design of the 12Cilindri blends retro and futuristic elements, with a front inspired by the 1960s 365 GTB/4 Daytona, giving it a distinctive look. Its sleek lines, reminiscent of the Roma, reflect Ferrari’s shift toward a form-over-function design approach.
