One of the most exclusive members of the Aston Martin Vantage lineup is the V12 Speedster, with only 88 units produced. Competing with the limited-edition open-top models like Ferrari’s Monza SP1 and SP2, and McLaren’s Elva, the Speedster offers a rare driving experience.
Its design draws inspiration from Aston Martin’s legendary DBR1, which triumphed at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans, and builds upon the styling cues of the 2013 CC100 concept, showcased at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Powered by Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, the Speedster generates 690 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque , paired with an eight-speed ZF transmission that drives the rear wheels. This gives the Speedster a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 186mph.
The car’s aluminium chassis, borrowed from the DBS Superleggera, includes special front-end elements to accommodate the powerful engine. Standout features include 21-inch forged alloy wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension, and two helmet pods behind the seats. Additionally, a removable leather bag replaces the traditional glovebox.
Number 61 of only 88 units made, the example you see here courtesy of RM Sotheby’s is finished in Aston Martin Racing Green with Clubsport white roundels, paired with a luxurious Conker saddle leather and Viridian Green interior.
It has remained with the same owner based in France and has only covered 46 kilometres since new. This Aston Martin V12 Speedster will be available for bidding on November with an estimated value of $850,000 – $1,200,000 USD and will be accompanied by its books and a pair of matching Aston Martin Racing Green helmets.
