The 812 Superfast generated remarkable excitement when it debuted at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show as Ferrari’s replacement for the F12berlinetta. As Ferrari’s new flagship, this front-engined, rear-wheel-drive supercar boasted a 6.5-litre V-12 engine with 789 brake horsepower, quickly earning its reputation as Ferrari’s most powerful production model.
Four years later, Ferrari unveiled the 812 Competizione, an evolution of the Superfast, designed to push performance boundaries even further. With an upgraded V-12 engine producing 819 brake horsepower and a rev limit increased to 9,500 rpm, the Competizione became Ferrari’s most powerful naturally aspirated road car.
Its significance is heightened by the likelihood of it being one of Ferrari’s last petrol-powered models, adding to its allure. With blistering acceleration and exceptional track performance, all 999 units sold out quickly, cementing its status as a collector’s gem, rarely seen at auctions.
This particular 812 Competizione is a standout example with only 588 miles on the odometer and nearly $130,000 in bespoke factory options. The car is finished in Extracampionaro Blu Elettrico 2020 paint with Giallo Fly livery accents, complemented by 20-inch wheels with yellow-accented Pirelli tires, yellow calipers, and exposed carbon trim.
The striking design continues inside with Blu Medio leather Daytona racing seats, Nuovo Giallo accents, and contrasting yellow stitching. The car is also equipped with carbon fiber components, including a rear diffuser, front air vents, under door covers, instrument panel, parcel shelf, upper console, and dash inserts.
Additional features include adaptive headlamps, a suspension lifting system, diamond polished forged wheels, a high-power audio system, and Scuderia shields. Recently serviced and complete with original accessories, this 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione is expected to fetch $1,650,000 to $1,950,000 USD at Bonhams Cars’ The Quail Auction.
