McLaren leveraged the track-proven success of the 570S GT4 to develop the 620R, a true race car for the road. This model boasts a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, tuned to deliver 612 HP (620 metric), which is channeled to the rear wheels through a competition-inspired 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The 620R closely resembles its track counterpart, featuring extensive aerodynamic upgrades that create over 315 pounds of front downforce and 873 pounds at the rear. The car’s handling is enhanced by McLaren’s Adaptive Damping System and carbon ceramic brakes. An aggressive roof snorkel is an option in some markets and standard on U.S. models.
Equipped with a carbon-fiber MonoCell II chassis, the 620R is available in McLaren Orange, Silica White, or Onyx Black, adorned with orange stripes and a vinyl decal livery. Its carbon-fiber bodywork includes a revised front bumper, hood, splitter, dive planes, rear diffuser, and an adjustable rear wing with an integrated brake light.
