The MC20, developed in collaboration with the motorsport engineering company Dallara, made its debut for the 2022 model year. The design was handled internally at Centro Stile Maserati in Turin, Italy, and the cars are assembled at the Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena. To celebrate the launch of the open-top version of Maserati’s flagship MC20 super sports car, the company also introduced the MC20 Cielo PrimaSerie Edition which was limited to just 65 units.
This special edition highlights the “Neptunian” theme of Maserati’s iconic trident badge with a special Acquamarina three-layer paint, iridescent Matte White Gold wheels, a painted trident badge on the tonneau cover, and an Ice Alcantara and leather interior featuring custom seat backing and Acquamarina stitching.
The optional Exterior Carbon Fiber Package includes dark exhaust tips, a carbon fiber hood, front splitter, rear diffuser, and sill inserts. Additional features include a power-folding electrochromic glass roof panel, dihedral doors, full LED lighting, and parking sensors.
The car is powered by Maserati’s Nettuno 90° V6, a 3.0-liter engine with twin turbochargers and a dry-sump lubrication system. It delivers up to 621 HP and 538 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. With the optional electronic limited-slip differential (E-LSD), it can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in as little as 3 seconds, boasting a top speed of over 200 MPH.
