Debuting in Dubai in 2019, the McLaren Elva represents a pivotal achievement as the British automaker’s first open-top road car. Named after Frank Nichols’ Elva, a notable British race car manufacturer responsible for early McLaren models, the Elva is the fifth addition to McLaren’s exclusive Ultimate Series.
The McLaren Elva features a carbon fiber chassis, doors, and seats, resulting in a weight of just 1,269kg, making it McLaren’s lightest sports car. Its powertrain includes an 804bhp twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, similar to the Senna. Additionally, it boasts a four-outlet exhaust system made from Inconel and titanium.
Notable features include an Active Air Management System that provides a wind-free cabin experience without a traditional windshield, and a luxurious interior with synthetic leather seats. Initially, production was planned for 399 units but was later reduced to 149, each priced at $1.69 million.
This particular McLaren Elva, delivered new to McLaren Walnut Creek in California, features a special-order McLaren Orange finish with painted No. 4 roundels and heritage-style “McLaren Cars” and “Bruce McLaren” script.
The interior includes carbon-fiber bucket seats wrapped in navy blue Nubuck upholstery with orange piping and stitching, and kiwi silhouettes embroidered on the headrests. The upper dash, upper doors, center console, and rear bulkhead are painted in body color, while the lower door surfaces, lower dash, sills, and floors are lined with exposed carbon fiber.
Other key features include a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, an Active Air Management System, ProActive Chassis Control II, deployable roll-over protection, electro-hydraulic steering, carbon-ceramic brakes, staggered-dimension super-lightweight forged wheels, and a quad-outlet exhaust system.
This McLaren Elva, with a sticker price of $1,820,268, is now offered for sale on Bring A Trailer with just 837 miles on the odometer and comes with a pair of Bell racing helmets, additional equipment, and a clean title.
