The McLaren P1 was a significant milestone for McLaren, following the MP4-12C’s success. With an emphasis on lightweight construction, McLaren engineered a carbon monocoque chassis and lightweight carbon fiber body panels.
The P1 boasts advanced carbon-ceramic brakes, a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine generating 717 horsepower, and an electric motor adding 176 horsepower. Together, they deliver a total of 893 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The P1’s aerodynamics feature adjustable spoilers for increased downforce, showcasing its hybrid powertrain’s performance capabilities.
Launched in March 2013, all 375 P1 units sold out within eight months, with around 128 units delivered to the U.S. Each P1 was uniquely customized, highlighting McLaren’s dedication to high-performance and exclusivity.
This specific P1, number 154, is one of the roughly 128 that came to the US. It was originally registered in California before being exported to Canada in 2018, and then returned to the U.S. It features Volcano Red carbon-fiber bodywork with black Alcantara upholstery.
It’s loaded with high-tech features like carbon-ceramic brakes, 20″ and 21″ HRE R101 LW wheels, electro-hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering, a 4.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, active aerodynamics, an extendable rear wing, carbon-fiber racing seats, dual-zone climate control, and navigation.
The current owner has meticulously maintained the car, including recent servicing and upgrades. Offered with a clean Florida title and an additional set of wheels, this P1 is a true prize for any collector.
