Car manufacturers typically launch supercars, receive mixed reviews, and later release a nearly identical convertible. However, McLaren takes a different approach. They’ve just introduced the McLaren Artura Spider, a convertible version with significant changes under the skin.
The Artura Spider features a retractable hardtop and weighs 62 kg more than the coupe, starting at £221,000. It includes advanced cooling systems, improved powertrain mounts, and a stiffer chassis, enhancing handling and driving excitement. The 2025 model also boasts increased power, a more efficient battery, and refined brakes and suspension.
McLaren has addressed many of the criticisms of the original Artura, resulting in a car that’s arguably how the Artura always should have been. James Dennison from CAR magazine takes us through the changes that has been introduced to the new Artura Spider.
