McLaren continues to push boundaries with its latest offering, the Artura Spider. With the Artura Spider, the focus is not on what is added, but rather on what is refined and perfected, resulting in a driving experience that exceeds expectations.
Power is from a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 combined with the “Axial Flux E-Motor” performance hybrid system. In the Artura coupe, that is good for a combined 670hp. However, for the Spider, McLaren decided that needed a boost to a nice even 690hp . That added grunt propels the Artura Spider to 60 MPH 0.1 seconds faster than the Coupe, at 3.0 seconds dead-on. It will pass 124 MPH in 8.4 seconds, and will decimate 186 MPH in 21.6 seconds. All of this while headed to its (roof up) top speed of 205 MPH.
However, the biggest point of owning a Spider variant of any supercar is the endless headroom you get. For the Artura Spider, its retractable hardtop, a defining feature of any spider, hasthe ability to deploy in just 11 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph.
