Back in May, the Rimac Nevera made headlines by setting 23 new world records in one day. At the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed last July, the Nevera became the fastest production EV ever to go up the Goodwood Hill. It then continued its streak of by setting a new Nürburgring record for electric vehicles.
Now, this all-electric hypercar from Croatia is making headlines again by setting a new Guinness World Record as the fastest car to go in reverse. According to Guinness, the previous record was set in 2001 by Darren Manning driving a Caterham 7 Fireblade in reverse and reached a top speed of 102.58 mph.
With the full support of Guinness World Record measurement equipment and personnel, Rimac‘s driver, Goran Drndak, took the wheel and pushed the accelerator in reverse. The Rimac Nevera achieved an impressive speed of 275.74 km/h (171.34 mph), surpassing the previous record by nearly 70 mph!
