Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the McLaren P1 is a remarkable hypercar that has been recognized as a landmark both for McLaren and the development of high-performance hybrid vehicles – showcased most recently by the all-new McLaren Artura. Created with the intention of being ‘the best driver’s car in the world on both road and track’, the design and technical specifications of the McLaren P1 provided the ideal foundation to deliver on this ambition. In total, 375 copies of this model were produced in three years, all of them with a fixed roof.
For those who missed the opportunity to acquire one, an open-top version of this hypercar was announced last year, to be manufactured by Lanzante, a UK-based company renowned for converting McLaren F1 GTRs and P1 GTRs into road-legal vehicles in Europe.
The improvements and details of this open-top McLaren P1, limited to just 5 units and priced at a substantial £2.4 million ($2.9 million), including the donor car, are showcased in a video posted by Hagerty on their YouTube channel, presented by Henry Catchpole.
