Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018, the Sciàdipersia draws inspiration from the three Maserati 5000 GTs created by Carrozzeria Touring in the late 1950s. Mirroring its distinguished predecessor, the 21st Century Sciàdipersia is based on the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera two-door coupé.
The Sciàdipersia boasts the 454bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine found in the more athletic GranTurismo models, coupled with either an MC Race Shift robotised six-speed manual paddle-shift gearbox or a ZF six-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter. Weighing approximately 120kg (264lb) less than the GranTurismo, the Sciàdipersia achieves a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 299km/h (186mph).
While the interior largely mirrors the GranTurismo’s design, the Sciàdipersia elevates it with lavish Italian leather and brushed aluminum trim. Externally, however, the Sciàdipersia takes a departure from its donor car, presenting a thoroughly redesigned body loosely inspired by the Touring 5000 GT’s low-slung three-box silhouette, albeit with a considerably sleeker profile.
