[Book Review] Delage Styling and Design

Delage Styling and Design

By Richard S. Adatto and Diana E. Meredith

Enthusiasts can finally enjoy a book written in English about the historic French Delage marque, which manufactured road and racecars from 1929 to 1953. The book provides an account of the beginnings of the company founded by Louis Delage and touches on its early racing history when French driver Robert Benoist led the Delage team to the 1927 World Constructors Championship. Subsequent chapters describe the styling and design of the stunning Delage that featured coachwork from such names as Letourneur & Marchand, Henri Chaon, Marcel Pourtout, and Figoni & Falaschi. Though the racing side of Delage is only covered superficially, this book will be well received by any enthusiast of French cars and custom coachwork.
