Fangio – The Master (Artwork)
Artist Chris Phillips captures the essence of one of the most revered figures in motorsport history – Juan Manuel Fangio
One of the most beautiful front-engined Grand Prix cars ever built, the Maserati 250F carried Juan Manuel Fangio to his 5th, and final, World Championship in 1957. Seen here, the car is depicted at Aintree, England, during the 1957 European Grand Prix, with Fangio holding the car in a classic four-wheel drift. In the words of author Forrest Bond, “Fangio was from a different time in the broader sense, a time in which honor, duty, ethics and fair play had meaning in the larger society and carried over even into racing’s cloistered community.”
