At the 2023 Goodwood Festival Of Speed, MG unveiled the MG4 ‘XPower,’ which stands as the most potent model ever produced by the brand. Carwow quickly put it to the test in a series of drag races against some formidable supercars, including a Lamborghini Gallardo and Nissan GT-R.
The MG4 ‘XPower’ is equipped with two electric motors that collectively generate 435 hp and 600 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 3.8 seconds. As the sole electric vehicle in the current MG lineup, the MG4 ‘XPower’ is also the heaviest, with a weight of approximately 1,800 kg.
In the opposing lane, we have the Lamborghini Gallardo, boasting a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V10 engine churning out 520 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels, and it is the lightest of the three cars, tipping the scales at 1,570 kg.
Lastly, the roster is completed by the GT-R R35 from Nissan. This supercar relies on a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering 480 horsepower and 588 Nm of torque. Like the others, power is sent to all four wheels, and it carries a weight of 1,740 kg.
