The Lamborghini Huracán was introduced back in 2014, so that’s about nine years ago, as the LP610-4, and as a successor to the successful Lamborghini Gallardo, the first V10-powered supercar from Sant’Agata, the Huracán had some big shoes to fill, but it managed ever so nicely, a more ‘usable’ and less expensive Raging Bull compared to the flagship V12 Aventador, the Huracán quickly became a sales success, add a Spyder later on, boost output by a more potent Huracán Performante and you’ve got an amazing V10 lineup made in Sant’Agata.
And then we get to the mid-life update, which Lamborghini simply called the Huracán EVO, and EVO RWD for the rear-wheel-drive only version, both available as a closed Coupe and as a convertible Spyder and while we all were expecting a Huracán EVO Spyder, Automobili Lamborghini SpA went completely crazy and revealed the Huracán STO, for Super Trofeo Omologata, the street-legal version of the all-out Super Trofeo race car that has been competing in this single make championship around the globe for years now … but then we get to 2023, and it’s about time to replace the Huracán with a hybrid successor … but not before Lamborghini makes a few specials to mark the end of the internal combustion engine only V10 reign, so we get the Huracán Tecnica, which is in fact a toned-down STO … but all of those different Huracán models are still low-riding supercars.
Until Lamborghini reveals the Huracán Sterrato, a lifted, off-road version of the successful V10 model, and while the Sterrato has been ‘teased’ for a long time already, it is now finally ready for the dynamic launch, and both press and influencers have been able to get behind the wheel of this rather special Lamborghini V10, as did Jack Rix, an editor at Top Gear magazine, this is his ‘First Drive’ video of that occasion:
