The Lamborghini Diablo was the successor to the quintessential poster car, the Countach. Lamborghini followed the same blueprint as the Countach when they designed the Diablo. It has the same big mid-mounted V12 engine with rear wheel drive. Although it overall look remained similar to its predecessor, the Lamborghini Diablo was definitely a striking car on its own right.
The Diablo was officially launched in January 1990 and would go on to become one of the most iconic supercars of the 1990s, establishing its status alongside the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F355. Featuring the same V12 engine that was seen from the Countach, the Diablo had a maximum output of 499 PS (367 kW; 492 hp) and 580 N·m (428 lb·ft) of torque. The vehicle could reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
