The entire production run of the Bugatti Chiron has been sold out for a while already, all of the 500 units Bugatti intended to build of this impressive hypercar are gone, and with it, we’ll say goodbye to the W16 quad-turbo engine too as the next generation will be a joint-development between Rimac and Bugatti, so we’ll be seeing either an all-electric or a hybrid Bugatti being unveiled in the very near future, and to make sure the Chiron legacy ends with something truly special, Bugatti created three very special versions for the final delivery in Europe, one is based on the Chiron model while the two others are using the Chiron Sport base.
These three hand-built Bugatti Chiron L’ébé will come with bespoke Art Deco styling details, created as an homage to Ettore and Barbara Bugatti’s eldest daughter, L’ébé, born in 1903, Ettore went as far as using his own initials ‘EB’ in her name, so even if she would have to forgo the Bugatti family name if she married, the initials would be there forever, L’ébé even wrote a biography of Ettore, “The Story of Bugatti’, in which she gave invaluable details about the history of the automotive brand and her father.
The Art Deco-inspired styling for these three final Bugatti Chiron production units for Europe is evident in the gold-finished details against a dark blue-tinted, clear carbon fiber bodywork, echoing the famous Bugatti Type 57 G Tank that won Le Mans in 1937, even the famous EB logo, the traditional horseshoe grille and parts of the wheels are showing an understated gold tint, I for one really like a visible carbon fiber body, and adding a subtle touch of gold to contrast dark blue, or even black, is just an amazing looking combination, I might have second thoughts when seeing some more elaborate color schemes on some of the Bugatti Veyron or Chiron models out there, but this Bugatti Chiron L’ébé looks absolutely stunning to me.
An amazing touch, and great attention to detail, is the fact Bugatti didn’t go for some obvious logo or ostentatious signature on the front or over the doors on this Bugatti Chiron L’ébé edition, instead, a very stylish L’ébé logo, which almost looks like a signature, is featured in gold on the underside of the adjustable rear wing, now that’s just beautiful, a nice homage to L’ébé herself without being too obvious, and while you open the door on this multi-million Euro hypercar you’ll notice the logo again on the doorsill, a bit more attention-grabbing, and this trend also continues on both headrests with L’ébé being embroidered in very contrasting stitching.
It is good to see Bugatti has taken the exterior Art Deco styling into the cockpit of this exclusive hypercar too, with similar blue-tinted carbon fiber just about everywhere you look, on the central console, the dashboard pod, and even on the steering wheel, but there is also some amazing, sumptuous leather being used inside the Bugatti Chiron L’ébé, in a great looking two-tone in “Silk” leather and “Lake Blue” combination with contrasting stitching throughout, creating a very inviting light versus dark theme, and an amazing detail can be found on the door panels, while the driver’s side is predominantly light, the passenger’s side shows the inverse color scheme … but both display a motif of the visual evolution of Bugatti’s most iconic cars, from early Grand Prix racers through to EB110, Veyron and Chiron.
Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said: “L’Ébé Bugatti’s biography of her father consists of numerous diary entries by Ettore himself, letters from his early employees, customers, business partners and her own experiences. It helps a lot to understand Ettore’s personality, his goals and the appreciation everyone had for him and his products. With this knowledge we could transmit the Bugatti DNA into the present time maintaining the essence, grade of perfection and quality standards up to this very day. Through this unique configuration and use of her name for the final Chiron and Chiron Sport, we wanted to honor her with the status she deserves in our brand’s history.”
The magnificent Bugatti Chiron was originally introduced back in 2016 as the first production car in the world to boast 1,500 PS, taking the hypercar market to new heights, power came from further development of the W16 quad-turbocharged engine found in the Veyron, with an 8-Liter displacement in the Chiron, combined with an ultra-advanced four-wheel-drive system and a lightweight chassis, the Chiron managed to set new standards not just when it comes to acceleration, but also for all-out top speed, and excellent handling both on the open road and on the track, and the Chiron continued to set the bar high in terms of comfort, usability, and more importantly, reliability.
The 2016 Bugatti Chiron has since evolved into some amazing evolutions, like the Chiron Sport, the Chiron Pur Sport, and the Chiron Super Sport, and as we already mentioned at the top of this article, the entire production run for the Bugatti Chiron is sold out, hence these three exclusive Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé that effectively marks the end of Chiron and Chiron Sport for Europe are already sold too, the single unit of the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé and the first unit of the Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé Sport have already been delivered to their fortunate clients, while the third and final unit, another Chiron Sport will be delivered by the end of June 2022.
All we can do now is enjoy some more photos of the one-of-three Bugatti Chiron L’Ébé:
