The new 2023 M Motorsport design BMW M4 GT4

We’ve seen a camouflaged test mule for the 2023 GT4 season from BMW doing runs on the famous Nürburgring-Nordschleife in Germany during a test race already, but now we finally are able to admire the brand new 2023 BMW M4 GT4 race car in M Motorsport design for the very first time, just ahead of the SRO race weekend at the VIRginia International Raceway in the United States of America.

The new 2023 BMW M4 GT4 aims to continue the winning streak of her predecessor in the international GT4 category, production of this new version will start in October 2022 to make sure the first units can be delivered to the race teams well in time for the start of the 2023 season, with an MSRP of €187,000 each, and while at the time of writing the car is entering the final stages of testing, the near-production development and pending SRO homologation will make this car eligible for GT4 racing around the world.

“We took on the challenge to develop a successor to the highly successful first-generation BMW M4 GT4”, said Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M. “Using a wide range of customer feedback, our experienced development team and the new sixth-generation BMW M4 based production car has led to a faster, reliable and very emotional all-new BMW M4 GT4.”

To make sure the new BMW M4 GT4 can win races and titles, just like its predecessor, a lot of components have been borrowed from its famous big brother, the intimidating BMW M4 GT3 race car, with a focus on four key areas: performance, reliability, cost efficiency and maintainability, but without forgetting about ergonomics and electronics, the overall customer experience has been greatly improved when it comes to the 2023 BMW M4 GT4 racer, one way to accomplish this is by adding the M Track Cockpit, which makes many vehicle settings and checks possible directly via the control elements, thereby minimizing the more time-consuming connection to a laptop.

When developing the new BMW M4 GT4, BMW M Motorsport had the backing of support from strong partners. Bcomp, H&R, PUMA, RAVENOL and RECARO shared valuable expertise in their areas, and in doing so made an important contribution to the success of the project.
