Some Details Emerge
Pagani is working on an all-electric hypercar to succeed the Huayra. Before the Huayra disappears into motoring history, though, the company will do some fantastic things with the platform. The Huayra R is coming soon, and according to The Supercar Blog, it will have an AMG-built naturally aspirated V12 that was built specifically for the car.
AMG and HWA worked together on the engine. HWA are the same folks that built the engine for the Apollo IE hypercar. This new engine for the Huayra should produce over 900 hp and rev to over 9,500 rpm. The blog also said that this car would have a “diabolic” sound.
The Huayra R will be revealed on November 12, so we have a little time to wait until the car is officially revealed. Before that time, it’s possible that more information will leak about this car.
I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Pagani come out with some other special additions or one-off builds based on the Huayra. Yes, the model is over eight years old, but the Zonda—the car that came before the Huayra—had a long life of 18 years. Pagani has a history of stretching the life of its designs and not adhering to the typical product life cycle for cars. It’s a move that I find refreshing.
