Lamborghini Gives A Guided Tour Of The Essenza SCV12

Lamborghini unveiled their Essenza SCV12 car this past summer, and while it is limited to 40 units, it is still one of their most extreme and exciting cars in a generation.

Much like Ferrari’s Corsa Clienti racing program, famous for the 599XX and FXX K cars, the Lamborghini Squadra Corse “Purest” experience is where you buy the car, Lamborghini keeps it and brings it to the track for you with a dedicated pit crew and amenities.

While there have been pictures before, Lamborghini has now produced a video walking through and around the new track car, and of course, we couldn’t just keep this to ourselves!

With a very well-spoken gentleman named Adriano Tozzi, the video first takes us through the car itself. Of course, the beating heart of the car is the 830 BHP V12 that is naturally aspirated but also includes a roof scoop that produces a compressing ram effect.

In essence, this gives the car stable power the faster you go, as more air will be rammed in to keep the engine to keep it firing strongly. It is bolted to a loadbearing 6-speed motorsports dual-clutch transmission, built in partnership with Xtrac.

In terms of vehicle dynamics, a full motorsports grade wheel is part and parcel of the car, including thumb rollers, for ABS and Traction Control, as well as switches for clutch bite, wiper speed, engine mapping, and the like. Thumb rollers also allow for differential tuning and preload settings.

One extremely interesting fact about the Essenza SCV12 that was not shown off until this video is that the carbon-fiber monocoque passed FIA grade impact, penetration, rollover, and safety tests without needing an additional roll cage. This is something that not even the Huracan GT3 has, and it shows that Lamborghini is pushing for their 40 lucky customers to be as safe as possible in their track cars.

For the exterior dynamics, Adriano reveals that at 250 km/h, the car will naturally produce 1,200 kg of downforce. In Imperial units, that is 2,645 lbs of downforce at 155 MPH, or pretty much the equivalent of dropping a Fiat 500 on the roof.

The other side of buying an Essenza SCV12 is that you get to do track days, organized exclusively for Lamborghini SCV12 owners. According to the video, one of these days is fully inclusive every year, with four more with a mild fee (or at least mild to the people that can afford these cars).

These will be, as with Ferrari’s track days, “arrive and drive” at FIA Grade 1, or Formula 1 level, tracks. Car, pit crew, mechanics, driver training, spare parts, catering, concierge service… all of it will be taken care of by Lamborghini.

There is also the possibility of “on-demand” track days, where your Lamborghini customer liaison will request a track day at any track you choose, and will also take care of the same services including car transportation to the track of your choice. During this part of the video, the tracks that they show, top left to bottom right, are Monza, Barcelona-Catalunya GP, Nurburgring GP, and Suzuka GP full course.

The last portion of the video shows the dedicated hangar that all the cars will be stored in. Your car number and the flag of your nationality will be on the wall behind your specific car. You will get a special website and login to stream a webcam of your car 24/7/365. The price of storage is included with the car for 2 years, with each year after again being at a mild fee for the multimillionaires that will buy these cars.

As well, each of the 40 customers will have their own liaison, dedicated to their needs alone. They can arrange a variety of services, from a private VIP museum tour to the aforementioned on-demand track days, through to private driver training with either legendary Le Mans champion Emanuele Pirro, or Lamborghini International GT Champion Factory Driver Marco Mapelli, both extremely experienced racing veterans.

All in all, while for 99.99% of us this is a fantasy walkthrough, for the 40 lucky customers, this sounds like heaven with an engine!
