Koenigsegg kicked off a new era with the announcement of the Regera at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. The limited-series megacar is a hybrid, with three electric motors combined with a twin-turbo V8 to produce over 1,500hp. What’s more? The car is equipped with a revolutionary powertrain technology called the Koenigsegg Direct Drive. The single gear system among other things, eliminates the traditional gearbox system, making the car lighter and more efficient.
The Swedish carmaker has since followed the Regera announcement with the Jesko - a track-focused road-legal car billed as the Agera replacement. There will also be the Jesko Absolut variant, a hardcore road rocket aimed solely at cracking the 300 mph barrier and establishing itself as one of the fastest production cars ever (watch out Bugatti).
In March 2020, Koenigsegg launched its first four-seater. It is called the Gemera. Limited to 300 units, it promises a spacious interior, modern creature comforts and proper hypercar performance.
It’s going to be a busy year for Koenigsegg. The Regera production is still ongoing and customer deliveries of the Jesko are expected to start sometime in Spring. The Gemera is continuing production in 2024, with the first cars having delivered to customers starting in late 2023.
On December 31 2021, Koenigsegg teased with a Facebook post about an upcoming hypercar, shown only in silhouette. That car was later revealed to be the CC850, a special production run that combined the shape and style of the original CC cars with the modern carbon fiber and mechanical prowess of the Swedish company. As Christian von Koenigsegg himself stated, it's akin to a band putting out a greatest hits album, except recording the songs all over again for the new release. The CC850 is currently in production, with cars expected to arrive to customers before the end of 2024.

Koenigsegg’s new Jesko hypercar is named after his father who helped him start his company. Production of the Jesko is limited to 125 units and unsurprisingly, they have all been sold to eager customers. The Koenigsegg Jesko boasts a slew of aerodynamic components including that gigantic wing, that will provide in excess of 3,000 pounds of downforce - needless to say, the Jesko should be an absolute beast on the racetrack. One of the Jesko’s party tricks is the 9-speed automatic that Koenigsegg calls the Light Speed Transmission. It is designed in such a way that allows the car to skip gears while shifting, allowing for instant throttle responses. For 2024, to differentiate it from the Absolut, the Jesko was renamed to be the Jesko Attack.
2024 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut
Base price: $2,800,000
Engine: 5.0L Twin-Turbo V8
Power: 1,280hp (regular), 1,600hp (biofuel)
Torque: 738 lb-ft (regular), 1,106 lb-ft (biofuel)
0-60 mph: 2.5 s
Top Speed: 250+ mph
In 2020, Koenigsegg announced the Jesko Absolut. This Jesko variant is built for pure straight-line performance. Consequently, every surface element on the Jesko Absolut has been optimized to reduce drag or surrounding turbulence around the car while increasing high-speed stability. It is a more seamless and stealthier interpretation of the track-focused Jesko. For example, the Jesko Absolut lacks the big wing of its sibling and instead sports a pair of menacing-looking fins on the back. Both the Jesko (track-oriented version) and the Jesko Absolut (high-speed version) will be powered by a 1280 bhp (1600 bhp on E85), twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
2024 Koenigsegg Gemera

Engine: 2.0L three-cylinder + 3 electric
Power: 1,700hp
Torque: 2,581 lb-ft
0-60 mph: 1.9 s
Top Speed: 250+ mph
Hinted at for a long time under the codename KG12, the Koenigsegg Gemera is the carmaker’s first attempt at creating a proper 2+2 GT car or more appropriately, a mega-GT car based on its power output. The Gemera comes with seating for four 6-foot tall adults and space for four pieces of luggage, allowing you to share the experience with friends and family. The Gemera powertrain is a combination of a small 2-litre 3-cylinder engine plus three electric motors. They work together to put out a total of around 1,700 hp and 2,581 lb-ft. It is an incredible amount of power which the car puts to good use indeed, judging by a claimed 1.9-second sprint time to 60 mph.
2024 Koenigsegg CC850
Base price: $3,650,000
Engine: 5.0L twin-turbo V8
Power: 1,385 hp (E85 fuel)

First teased at the very end of the year in 2021, the 2024 Koenigsegg CC850 began production at the very tail end of 2023, with deliveries to begin mid-2024. It is one of the most technical-yet-simplified cars that Koenigsegg will have made for many years, as it uses all of the latest carbon composite and carbon fiber materials that have been developed by the Swedish company, with a monstrously powerful twin-turbo V8 in the back, yet will also have a very complex "manual-automatic" transmission, making it the most powerful production road car with a manual transmission. The complexity in the transmission arises in that it can be operated with the clutch pedal through 6 gears, or the Electronic Shifting System (ESS) can be activated, operating the transmission like a single-clutch automatic.
