COVID-19 Can’t Keep Bugatti Down
In a press release sent out to the media, Bugatti confirmed that it is once again back in the workshop producing its cars. The company said that the Molsheim facility is inviting some employees back to the main facilities. The employees coming back into the shop will be working on completing Chiron and Divo. Those employees will be subjected to strict conditions so as to comply with healthcare expert’s recommendations.
“We will do everything necessary to ensure that our employees are able to work safely,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. “Wherever possible, they can still work from home to ensure that the minimum possible number of employees are on-site at any one time.”
He said that these steps taken by the company have enabled it to return to the business of building cars by hand. According to the press release, a Bugatti task force has been working the last few weeks to make sure the working environment follows the legal requirements of the French government and recommendations from international experts.
“I am confident that we have implemented the right measures to allow us to resume production in stages, while also proving the maximum possible protection for our employees,” said Winkelmann.
